Managing Partner, Tony Crane

Tony has been building new homes in the Baltimore/Washington region for over 25 years. In addition to managing Efficient Homes, he owns and operates Crane Homes, a Maryland based residential construction company. Prior to founding Crane Homes, Tony was Vice President/Division Manager for Ryland Homes Harford Division. He also worked in management capacities for DR Horton Custom Homes in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Tony is certified by the Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst. He is also a RESNET certified HERS rater, able to certify new home construction for Energy Star compliance. Additionally, he is a certified Green Advantage Builder, and sits on the MNCBIA Green Building Committee. He is a vice president and board member of the Montgomery County Construction Trades Foundation, dedicated to providing technical training to high school students interested in pursuing a career in residential real estate, architecture and construction. Tony currently chairs the Montgomery County Contractor's Licensing Board as well.


Managing Partner, John (Tony) Thometz

Tony is a project manager with Hailey Development. Prior to his work at Hailey Development, he worked for 10 years in the environmental remediation field, managing a wide variety of environmental related remediation projects for government facilities, schools, and private properties. During that time, Tony owned and operated Chesapeake Environmental Consultants, a firm specializing in structure based environmental remediation.

Tony is also a RESNET certified HERS rater and Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Ratings Systems Accreditation Standard. Over the past 20 years, Tony has been certified as an asbestos / inspector and management planner for Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Maine, and Massachusetts, and was previously certified as a 40 hour HAZMAT worker / supervisor.


Managing Partner, Rich Thometz

Rich has 25 years in homebuilding and real estate development experience. Rich owns and operates Hailey Development, a Maryland real estate development company. Prior to founding Hailey Development he was Vice President and Legal Counsel for Winchester Homes, Inc., a subsidiary of Weyerhauser Real Estate Company.

Rich currently serves as the 2008 President of the Maryland State Builders Association, is a past president and life director of the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association, and is a past chairman of the MNCBIA Environmental Committee. Rich is also past co-chairman of the HBAM Haven Foundation, a non-profit provider of "sticks and bricks" assistance for crisis shelter needs in the greater Baltimore region. He serves on the Board of Directors of M-CAEL, a Montgomery County non-profit focused on providing adult English literacy and ESOL resources. Rich was appointed in 2007 to serve on the Howard County Commission on Environment and Sustainability.
